Urethane Cement Flooring

Urethane cement is our heaviest-duty floor system, and we install several types, including Polycrete. It's built for spaces that see hot water, harsh cleaners, heavy equipment and constant wear, like commercial kitchens, breweries, shops and warehouses. We also add line striping for walkways and safety zones.

SYSTEMS WE INSTALL

Types of urethane cement

We match the system to how your space is used. Not sure which you need? We'll recommend one at your quote.

Polycrete

Sherwin-Williams' Poly-Crete® cementitious urethane is built for food and beverage plants, commercial kitchens, breweries and distilleries. It's seamless and non-porous, so there are no grout lines for bacteria to hide in. It handles thermal shock, acids, bases and harsh cleaners, stays slip-resistant in wet, greasy areas and is ultra-low VOC. It comes as a trowel-applied mortar, a quartz broadcast, a self-leveling gloss finish and a cove base for seamless wall-to-floor edges.

Self-leveling slurry

A smooth, seamless finish for shops, warehouses and production areas.

Heavy-duty trowel

A thicker build for heavy impact, hot washdowns and the toughest traffic.

Slip-resistant broadcast

Textured for grip in wet areas like kitchens and breweries.

How we do it

  1. 01

    Prep & profile

We grind or shot-blast the slab to clean, sound concrete, removing grease and old coatings.

  2. 02

    Anchor the edges

Saw-cut grooves at edges and drains lock the system into the slab so the edges don't lift.

  3. 03

    Install urethane cement

The urethane cement goes down as a self-leveling slurry or troweled mortar, depending on the space.

  4. 04

    Texture & seal

We add slip-resistant texture where needed and finish with a sealing topcoat.

Why urethane cement

  • Handles hot-water washdowns and big temperature changes
  • Resists acids, oils, fats and harsh cleaning chemicals
  • Thick and tough under carts, forklifts and dropped tools
  • More tolerant of slab moisture than many thin coatings

Good to know

  • Fewer color and decorative options than epoxy or polyurea
  • Usually more than a home garage needs, but worth it for heavy-use spaces
  • Costs more than standard coatings. We'll quote both if you're unsure
